This might be the best book within the series, yet it has now come to a beautiful end.

The Last Devil to Die tackles subjects you don't expect within a cosy mystery, like grief and the battles of dementia. If you grew attached to these characters like I did, you find yourself grieving with them and laughing with everyone, hoping it all goes alright, hoping in the end it'll all be okay.

And also crying your eyes out when Stephen asks Elizabeth to tell him about how they first met again.

In a way, it makes the future less daunting and depressing. You can go your whole life alone but end up finding a group of friends who will solve murder cases with you and have fun every step of the way.
