This was meh for me. For someone who had to rescue herself at a young age and then continue to struggle to make a meager life for herself, Payton was annoyingly naive. This book could’ve been 100 pages shorter. I don’t need a paragraph of her inner thoughts working out how’s she’s going to hold a hot coffee and her phone at the same time like really why did we need that?! And for how long this book was, it was wayyyy too insta-lovey. Also we just land planes in residential neighborhoods now?! I’ll suspend my disbelief for a lot but that was just dumb.
