Daniel & Charlotte: Dysfunctional Love At Its Finest

This is the first book from newbie author, Jennifer Ivy. After finishing this book, I can honestly say that Ms. Ivy is off to a very good start!

MINE is a "serial killer romance" set around Halloween, where six college students decide to trespass and stay at a cabin in a small town to spend the holiday paired up in couples. Charlotte however is upset that her "girl's trip" has turned into a "couples retreat". Nevertheless, she goes along and tries to have fun. Their journey takes them to a small-town gas station to use the restrooms. It's there that Charlotte encounters the Cromwell brothers: Micheal and Daniel. Daniel takes an instant romantic interest in Charlotte, and she feels drawn towards him. After a bizarre, naughty first meeting between the Daniel and she, Charlotte leaves with her friends to begin their holiday. What she and her friends are unaware of is that Micheal and his brother Daniel have plans for the rowdy college group. Especially, sweet Charlotte.

I must say, this book was awesome! The suspenseful build and the attraction between Daniel and Charlotte were electric. Their scenes are very steamy, kinky and spicy. So, if you're seeking heat and a few "roadside spankings" are your thing, MINE serves and delivers.

Charlotte made some really questionable choices in this book. IMO (without giving too much of the plot away) many of these decisions can be attributed to her past. Daniel's background came of no surprise to me, as he must have had some reason behind him being a serial killer. What did shock me was the dedicated family he was a part of. As much as I wanted to dislike the Daniel and Micheal. By the time the book ended, I wanted more of them!

This book is not for everyone. It focuses on serial killers and a woman who falls madly in love with one. So, please check your triggers and reserve judgement enough to enjoy the story. I have been reading these types of books for a long time and am able to disconnect from the actions of the character and simply judge the book on the fullness of the plot, execution, and the characters. MINE checked all of the boxes and is one of the best serial killer romance stories that I have read in a long time. My only wish is that we were given a longer epilogue and a more detailed reunion of Daniel and Charlotte.

This first book opened the door for more in the series as I hope that Micheal and Kaleb, Daniel's other two brothers receive book on their own. Excellent read, Ms. Ivy! I look forward to reading more of your work!

Happy reading!
