Bit slow. Picks up a few years after first book. Introduces a new protagonist, Clavain. Like the other characters, not the most interesting. Again, world interesting but book probably too long. Slow buildup. Backstory revealed in dribs and drabs. Not the most natural. Will read 3rd and final book, but will probably wait a bit.
