Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore

4.0

This was very clever, very good. I thought it would be more irreverent, to the point of being disrespectful. But from my perspective, it was actually a rather tender reconstruction of how Jesus might have become Jesus. It ranges widely across the philosophical and religious traditions that might have been syncretized into Christianity, drawing lots of common threads and weaving a nice narrative out of Jesus's journey of discovery of what it means to be The Messiah.
