The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid
5.0
Oh. My. God. I loved this book. I read the entire thing in one go because I couldn’t drag myself away. This book isn’t like Naomi Novak’s work, which I liked, since I find Novak’s work unbearably boring. The main plot had me on the edge of my seat, the romance had me fully squealing, and I love Evike. Seriously, I’d reread the whole thing just to hang out with Evike again. I saw another reviewer complain that she was too mean, but that’s precisely what I loved about her. She is not perfect. She’s sarcastic and rude and doesn’t think things through. I love that she’s petty and fully believes in the principle of hitting your opponent below the belt. I love an oppressed character who has realized that they cannot reason with their oppressors and is determined to go down fighting. I can’t wait to get my hands on this author’s next book.
