Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto by Tricia Hersey

hopeful reflective medium-paced

4.0

The world we live in, especially 2025, is constantly bombarding us with things that are urgent and need to be done right now. The chronic exhaustion, even when I'm not physically doing anything but my mental rolodex stays scrolling, seems normal because we're all experiencing it. While it may be generally accepted, we were made for better than this. Tricia is advocating not just for naps, but for a wholesale return to rest in all it's form. To being present and able to tap into and enjoy the beauty of rest, dreams, imagination, and the power of resistance found therein. This book is a little repetitive, but when you're trying to change a narrative, repetition is key.
