Circe by Madeline Miller
5.0
I really loved this. Miller gives us such a full picture of a fully formed character and that is like my dream of a book. This was more accessible and easier to read than I was expecting. It is full of action, the way that journey books tend to be, but it has the slow, easy pace of a character-driven book. It sound contradictory, but it's the best way to describe it. I used to really love Greek mythology, but it's been years since I read a lot of those stories. Still, seeing famed characters pop in and out of Circe's story was fun. I fell in love with Circe pretty immediately. I felt for her, even when she was turning men into pigs or raging against the world, because Miller did a wonderful job showing us why she behaved the way she did.
I can't wait until this come to TV.
