This book is toddler (and up) comedy gold. Maybe my favorite Mo Willems.

Mother Tongue notes: some more difficult words for beginners (recently, unimportant, etc.). Weaker readers in the group can be assigned reading the parts of the flies. Discuss opposite adjectives (clean/dirty, hot/cold). Play a game of hot & cold. Discuss several descriptives and adjectives ahead of the game, instead of just very, super, extra. Examples: lukewarm, mild, volcanic, surface of the sun, frostbite, iceberg.
