Wicked Oath by Emily Klepp
dark
fast-paced
4.0
Surviving after breaking several times
This book is very dark. If you are not okay with SA, trafficking and non consent you Vetter run away from this one.
Delaney has been groomed to be the quiet subservient girl. She knows if she isn't she gets hurt worse. She has been abused all her life and was sold to a man for a business arrangement. However, when that man and his family needed the last shares of the company they were forced to invite the half brother over to try and get him to sign them over.
Talon is a big and scary man whom Laney was told to avoid. However, Talon decides to get even and kidnaps Laney so his half brother can't marry her. Instead Lahey finds herself married to Talon. She soon discovers that he is a complex man who has been through just as much abuse. Together maybe they can find healing.
Of course nothing in Emily's books is ever that easy. Laney is next kidnapped and sold at auction. Can Talon and his MC club find her before she is killed? This story is absolutely tragic but does have an HEA.
Emily writes about trauma, healing, and love. Her FMCs and even the MMCs will always have to go through a lot if trauma and healing before finding their place. It is always a beautifully tragic journey. This book kept me hooked and I read it in one day.
