The absolute whiplash I have from this series is devastating in the best possible way. This was a stellar conclusion to the Green Bone Saga, and I think it’ll take me awhile to truly process its effects and implications. I am blown away by the intricacies and multitude of plot points Lee maintained through this epic saga and this final 700+ page beast of a story. I wasn’t sure how to feel about the time jumps initially, but I quickly grew to love the way it showed character development with everybody within the Kaul family. I adored the final evolution of each character, and there were so many times I was left crying, laughing, or hanging on the edge of my seat. This book felt like three in one between all that happened in the beginning to the end of the twenty seven year war between The Mountain and No Peak. This saga and characters have my heart in a way I didn’t expect them to, and I am speechless by the masterful ending of this series. For anybody who likes political fantasy and the textbook for morally gray characters, this is the series for you. Jade Legacy may very well go on the list of my favorite books of all time. Bravo, Fonda Lee, bravo.
