This book was somehow whimsical and creepy at the same time. I felt a bond with the Dwoning family and I liked how the community was so closely knit together. This was fantasy with a touch of horror and I was so here for it. Erin A. Craig is the only type of horror-esque author I will read and her books pull me in every single time. Ellerie was such a captivating FMC and I loved her fierce dedication to her family, the town, and the bees. I also adored Whitaker. He was incredibly charming and had many wise insights to offer. I couldn't put it down and I kept wanting to know what was lurking in the woods. The vibe was dark and the betrayals were intense. I also was so mad I didn't predict some of the plot twists, but I think they were done so brilliantly. And there were several moments where my jaw dropped. This story was, unique and interesting and I loved it!
