Candice makes -0 sense as a character. I still don’t understand why she hates the fmc and how they thought “she’s looking out for her brother” was sufficient???
Also I like the love interests but 1. This was an instalove book on steroids 2. She invites him to a wedding that is never discussed—not even a little bit. I think an invite to the wedding first would have made more sense or saying at some point lol we aren’t crashing a wedding.
She’s being so weird at the end — the freak out about not cooking???? Also why is Candace bringing his EX? They all say she’s good but don’t show it at all. She was mean to her brother from day one and idk what’s so special about her friend that she can’t accept Zara. Also Jackie crying when her daughter tries to blindside her was so odd.
Candace apologizing and Zara saying she was jealous was WEIRD AND NOT SIBLING STUFF. It sounded incestuous. Also how they gonna be BFFs after five seconds???
The read was a solid 3 stars up until the last maybe 25%. I wish Candace made more sense as an antagonist rather than just being one. And Zara freaking out about food was soooo out of her character and it just felt like the book was 99% fluff but they wanted to add some “conflict” so the author just threw random stuff into the ending which was a 1 star experience honestly.
