This was really bittersweet for me. A Shadow in the Ember is one of my favorite books.

The first 40% was a bit too romance heavy. The last 60% was balanced perfection. I ended up giving it 5 stars because let’s be real - I’m a Nyktos stan and I rate on vibes.
