I HAVE TRUST ISSUES! Miss Holly Black, what was the reason?
Resume w/o spoilers: Jude Duarte and her twin sister are mortal girls that grew up in Elfhame after their parents were murdered. She realizes that she could do so much more than just trying to sit pretty while everyone else is playing the political games, she wants to be the owner of her own destiny and she will do anything to make it happen, but the faeries hate humans, including the cruel prince which will make things harder for her. A place where supremacy, hatred and treason reign, is there any possibility to build a better world?
Character development: yes, very much. I kinda like that it seems I haven’t met completely the personalities of the MCs. I hope this is covered in the next book tho, like it’s really necessary for me to fall in love with them.
Romance: who said this was romance? Lol, it’s not. There are several relationships forming but none of them are in any way a main focus, they only help the story to develop as you see by the way that the romantic scenes were written.
Plot: several plot twists all along the whole book which is highly entertaining, it’s a very, very light fantasy world and perfect for people initiating in high fantasy.
Note: this is the definition of truly fantasy young adult. A book based in the plot entirely, romance happens but it’s not what it’s sold in TikTok and Instagram at all.
