New favorite book.

Ho. Ly. Crap. So good. So so good. Though it’s YA, it strongly reminds me of the TV show “Lovecraft Country” (which is amazing and deserved another season), but with a focus on Arthurian lore rather than Adamic/Masonic. A little touch of Hunger Games too.

Also it is an AMAZING depiction of grief, both personal and inter-generational. So many highlights, so many lines that hit the heart for those that have lost someone close.

Lastly, I loved how many side characters are gay/bi. I reaaally hope that it continues in book 2, as the Arthurian legends are pretty gay.

All in all, I am obsessed. New top favorite book, I already can’t wait to reread it.
