I've been wanting to read Under the Oak Tree forever but didn't want to pay for it until it was published as physical book. I finally ordered it before Christmas and decided that it was time to read it.
This is a story about Maximilian who has always been abused by her father. He loved her sister but thought that Maxi was useless and that she should've died when her mother did. He hated that she wasn't only a girl but also couldn't speak. When Maxi heard that her husband would be back after three years, she thought that the rumors were right and he'd ask for annulment.
Riffan was forced to marry Maximilian but the first thing he did after coming back from the war was to get his wife. He didn't like how afraid she seemed to be about him but he's always so sweet to her! Nobody ever wanted Maximilian but Riftan was so good to her. I thought these two fit so well together. She was sweet and innocent and he was responsible, loyal and clearly a good man.
All in all I was in love with not only with the story but also with the art. Maximilian was so insecure about herself but he couldn't keep his hands out of her. I can't wait to read the second volume. I just wish this wasn't a censored version.
