This book took me forever to finish, despite being a reasonable length, because I kept going in and out of interest. There were points I was so into it, I couldn’t stop listening. And then it would get so slow and so boring, it would lose me. But I hung on, because I wanted to know WHAT WAS IN THAT FREAKING TRUNK AND HOW DID IT GET THERE?? (A question that isn’t fully answered until the very end.) It was pretty slow paced until the last few chapters, when all of the questions get answered and there’s some really sudden plot twists that felt a little out of left field. But overall, I think the style just wasn’t my cup of tea, and some people would really love it more than me.
