Follow Me by Sara Shepard

4.0

This book was NOT as mysterious as the first novel, however, it was definitely a lot more thrilling and had a more concise plot line.

Things I disliked:

1. Throughout the book, Seneca claims that she cannot pursue a relationship with Maddox because of the case. While the romance (or attempted romance) between them is expected due to what went on between hem in the first book, I did feel like it was a bit forceful here in some cases.

2.I know the series is called the amateurs for a reason, but no one even questioned why Gabriel was openly letting them stay in his house to talk about the Chelsea case? Not even Seneca or Maddox, who seemed a lot smarter in the first book?

3. At one point, when Seneca and Maddox are questioning Barnes , Seneca says that she doesn't want to say Bretts name out loud to Barnes, yet in the net page says his name directly in front of Barnes. It isn't even mentioned as a mistake later in the book. Pretty sure this was a continuity error.

4.GIVE MADISON A RELEVANT PLOT LINE! I sincerely hope Sara has Madison play a bigger part in the next book. Her skills are severally underrated even though Aerin does less then her to help the group. She's one of my faves ok?

Things I liked:

1. In the beginning of the book, there's a small summary of the events happened in the previous novel, which is great since not a lot of books in series will do it so well.

2. The Seneca/Maddox, even if it was a little pushy, didn't try to distract us from the actual plot.

3. This book had great twists upon twists that helped make the story a lot more interesting then the same old “boy kidnaps girl who doesn't love him

4. Sara consistently writes the settings, what the character is wearing/ doing, and just everything in general with such great detail. You truly feel like you are there with the characters.

Overall, this is a great book with a slightly better previous novel, but still a good sequel.
