King of Wrath by Ana Huang
5.0
“love wasn’t always about the big moments. more often, it was tucked in the small moments connecting the major ones.”
ana huang always delivers. never fails, always slay.
i picked up king of wrath randomly in the middle of my work shift as i was bored out of my mind with the lack of samples to run at that moment and though i didn’t expect much of the book as i did with twisted love for the first time (i’m always skeptical of broody CEOs stories), i was still blown away by the undeniable power in dante and vivian’s story.
the arranged marriage trope was done SO good that nothing — in my opinion right now — can top it. dante and vivian’s character developments were simply *chef’s kiss* wow wow wow. you could literally feel their tension since day one and how it gradually intensifies as the story goes until both of them couldn’t stand it any longer and oh. my. god. it was just so satisfying to read and if i’m being honest, despite how busy i’ve been lately, i devoured this book much more quickly than i’ve ever been with the other books i have read since i started my internship.
this book right here is the epitome of old money aesthetic for my old money aesthetic babies and oh my to live in luxurious wealth and doing what you love like vivian being an event organiser while not having to worry if you’re making enough or not for yourself is THE dream. but some of us can only fantasize of such privileges
