Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings

I have so many thoughts
First of all nickname BJ, give the guy a better nickname and don’t give him another one that’s Beej, BEEJ- like what!
The start felt like a hot mess and not just plotwise but grammatically too
I am so black and white, you cheat it’s over but I was still here for the ride.
I found it just quite cringey when she was having a go at her nanny/ I dunno what she was, about the life advice she gave her about not getting back with her ex who cheated and saying it was her fault (nanny’s) that BJ overdosed and almost died because she wouldnt be with him because of advice her nanny gave her, which was don’t take him back. Let’s hold the guy accountable for his own actions please
You’re 22- move the fuck out haha
And who are these friends? Why are they encouraging such toxicity??
I almost wanted to skip BJs’ POV by 3/4 of the way through- that boy has zero redeemable qualities, he’s literally a fuckboy with zero respect for his “soulmate” (hard eye roll here, soulmates don’t treat each other like that)
Also Jonah telling Magnolias friends to leave when they were defending her and trying to be good friends to her and to each other, and Magnolia just ditches them and says nothing? You suck as a friend mate
3 way chats?! Love triangles are fucking weird
Tom English ftw
I feel like I’m reading about Gossip Girl but the high school version, Chuck and Blair vibes.
These people aren’t really friends and they don’t know what healthy love is, platonic or romantic.
Once again I have no idea why anyone was rooting for them. I don’t care how good they were at dating from the ages of 14-19…. Okay writing that makes it even worse, but the toxicity of their behaviour in their twenties overrides that
