If this book doesn't make it into my top 5 of the year I will eat my hat. It was a one sitting book. A book that left my sentimental heart bursting with joy. It's brilliantly written. Clever and funny and poignant and tender and full of heart. It's a love letter to baseball and an absolutely enchanting portrayal of a character who delights in his transness. A really incredible debut.
