The Perfect Game by J. Sterling

3.0

I really thought this book was sweet and cute! I liked the characters and the plot. Except for the bit where they fast forwarded through nearly every important detail. It was a big disappointment in that way but the book definitely had it's moments and I found it a nice neat little read. Yay. Go Cassie and Jack. :)

“It's not that I can't live without you; it's that I don't want to. There's a difference. We all make choices in life and I choose you."

So the story of Jack and Cassie begins in college where Jack is a rising baseball star. He's confident and popular and can get almost any girl on campus. Almost.

But Cassie is having none of it. She knows the type of guy Jack is and tries to keep clear. But with persistency, she agrees to a date with Jack.

Ever since that date, Jack knows she's the only one he wants and 2 months later they're together. I was kinda, mmm okay I was soooo disappointed. Like the swooning is pretty much the best part of a romance, right?!

“Prove it.”

So anyway, they're together and they are super cute.

“Our scars don't point us in the direction were headed, Cass, they simply remind us of where we've been”

However both of them have issues which push the boundaries of their relationship along with long-distance, mistakes and lies

So even though the book jumped a lot, there was a lot going on which kept me interested so I kinda enjoyed it.

“Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”

With Cassie, she has her flaws because of her Dad who constantly let her down. Even though she has trust issues with Jake, towards the end it broke my heart when she begged Jack to stay with her, so willing to forgive the terrible mess he's in.

“I’m yours. There will never come a time when I don’t belong to you. It’s you for me, or no one. You hear me? Only you. Only yours. Forever.”

With Jack, I found him so down-to-earth. I really liked his character. With him being abandoned at a young age, we see his reasoning, for choosing the way he deals with the life-changing situation and having to live with the consequences. It broke me because we see he still loves Cass, and he wanted to do right by what has happened, but not for himself.

In the end, I loved how they came together, so sweet and cute just like they are :')

“You're my game changer, you know that?”
