"We had plenty of time to get to know each other better. It hadn’t even been twenty-four hours yet, and I’d already killed a man for him."

This was short, sweet and simple. A cute hurt/comfort with an adorable HEA.

The plot is about Jesse who's trying to escape his abusive boyfriend. He barely manages to until he's down on the snow while injured, but then a man named Harris finds him and nurses him back to health.

Their dynamic has daddy kink, which is something I'm not that into, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this aspect of their relationship.

While the development between felt organic, part of me wishes this had more pages and dealt more with Jesse's abuse. Although I understand that the author just wanted to write something cozy without too much pain, which is valid. There is a line aknowledging this so it was enough for me since I didn't start the book thinking it was a story about the journey of trauma recovery.

This was comforting and peaceful, great for anyone that wants something light with winter vibes.
