Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
5.0
“But death was her curse and her gift, and death had been her good friend these long, long years.”
If you enjoyed Throne of Glass then you will fall in love with Crown of Midnight and the characters! Sarah J. Maas put a lot more focus on the magic element in Crown of Midnight than in Throne of Glass, the same can be said for the politics aspect, which I really loved. Crown of Midnight was full of action and many twists and turns.
Celaena is one of my all time favourite characters. She is totally bad-ass and a great heroine, and she has faults which she accepts such as her selfishness. There were many revelations about Celaenas past aswell as the world she lived in. I enjoyed Celaenas character developments throughout Crown of Midnight, but the best character development award must go to Dorian.
Just like Throne of Glass, the world building was incredible and that it a must for a good high fantasy book. There was a good amount of romance, but it wasn't as the forefront like many young adult books these days. I love Chaol and Celaena's relationship development and hopefully their love can help them end up together again.
If you are a fan of high fantasy then I highly suggest you give this series a go!
