Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
5.0
It's sad how most of the world still does not know how to NOT over-sexualize a girl/girl relationship. This book, hits just the right amount of romance without over-sexualizing.
I'll admit, I'm biased as a pansexual woman.
Everyone's experience with sexuality is different and this book really captured some unique perspectives. Most notably - if you're pansexual or bisexual, what it is like to not have feelings for someone that's perfectly cute, nice, and likes you. And the flip side of that - what if you have MAJOR feelings for someone who is most likely straight?
I also appreciated getting some backstory and understanding that was glossed over in Simon's book.
There were other themes in this book that I absolutely loved - money/wealth, friendship obviously, and college. There's A LOT that goes on those last few months of high school. I still remember mine and I was one of those ridiculous people who got into a new relationship 3 months before high school ended
