This was such a great book. It was on my list before it came out, thanks to the author's Instagram page.
I'm not usually a fan of zombie stories, but I enjoyed this unique take with secret and mysterious magic in a small town. Sid was relatable in a lot of ways - kind of an outcast, insecure and awkward but kind and empathetic. She grew a lot in about a week, and used her feelings to her advantage. I was glad she didn't lose her chance to reconcile with her friends.
Wasley created a group of characters I genuinely cared about and found myself invested in. And Brian! We love a sweet Scorpio who stress bakes. I want to see the spinoff low-stakes series about Brian, Daisy, and Hyacinth being domestic and using their powers to fight minor evils.
Overall, a very good book about surviving an almost-apocalypse using the power of friendship.
