The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

4.0

So glad I finally got around to reading this (thanks to my book club)! Cozy, fun and charming, and I liked that the adventure was a lot more condensed compared to the LOTR trilogy. Since there were no slow, descriptive sections getting the better of me, I could now truly see Tolkien’s gift for storytelling. From listening to the audiobook, I also marvel at Andy Serkis’ incredible voice acting; my favorite part was the riddle exchange between Bilbo and Gollum, but all the other voices were also delivered with perfection and made for great entertainment.
