We listened to this on audio cd during a road trip. It was so good that we had to stop at Deseret Book on our way back to get the second volume!

The plot is deep. I love that it doesn't follow a cookie-cutter standard but rather deals with real-life family issues that Latter-day Saints face today. Dean Hughes is not a sugar-coater, and I appreciate that in historical fiction!
