Another great book in the Vickie Nelson series. This story had a great valence between Vickie, Henry, and Mike's point of view in a way that let all 3 show the growth and internal struggles they have. It is ultimately a very heartbreaking book but the action and mystery stays just as thrillingly consistent as it was in the other 3 books. It was sad to see Vickie struggling so much emotionally after the physical punches she has taken in the past, but overall the writing really lends itself to the emotional development that happened. The last 15 pages had my heart in my throat though, and the ending made me want to immediately jump into the next book because I NEED to know what happens. It was a mix of heartache and relief and mystery all stacked together in the best way possible. I can't wait to start the second last book!
