I love when authors reimagine stories that feel so wildly diffe ent and haunting from the original, and Angels Before Man, is everything I could've hoped for it to be.

Lucifer's creation, upbringing, and fall was a journey!  Definitely a bit disjointed, but that's something an editor could fix and it didn't take away from the feelings of joy or horror I felt while reading this.

I would smile along with Lucifer and then remember how this story would go.  But even with the warnings at the beginning, I don't think I was fully prepared with how the author was going to explore those topics.

Be sure to check the trigger warnings before going into this book.  As someone with religious trauma, the first half was one of the most therapeutic reads I've read in a bit.  The second half was entirely something else.
