This book was the ultimate slow burn, reluctant allies to friends to lovers. Cohrven is such a complex character and Alina is also a deeply complex character.
The politics, the banter, the tragic backstories, the plot twists, this book gave me everything I wanted. The final scene leaves me wanting book 2 right away and hoping for more intensity in Cohrven and Alina’s relationship cuz their chemistry is perfection.
Sterling brings in so much emotion to the work and the characters that it keeps the reader hooked from the first chapter.
I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read this book and I am excited to continue the series once book 2 is released.
