The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

5.0

THIS WAS SUCH A FUN RIDE. Having loved the Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus series, I thought it was about time to get my hands on The Kane Chronicles trilogy. To be honest, I expected something that was basically exactly like Percy Jackson, just set in Egyptian mythology. But it was so much more! I loved it a lot, firstly the way the story was narrated, secondly the characters (they were really great. Especially Bast!), and the story and the way the Egyptian mythology was woven into it. I liked how the Gods interfered a lot more in these than in the Percy Jackson series, how they were so much more of a part of the story. I also loved the mythology in this. I feel like I really should learn more about the Egyptian's myths.
At the end of the day though, I think you can't and shouldn't compare it to Rick Riordan's other series.
