Wolfsong by TJ Klune

5.0

This book feels like a higher stakes “Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets of The Universe”, with gay werewolves. It uses a similar truncated, poetic writing style, perfect for a coming of age book with young characters stuck with big emotions with little way to voice them. It’s the kind of writing that’ll make you leak tears throughout the book without fully understanding why. So… new favorite book!

Also it’s nice to have more gay stories written by gay men, not just horny women.

Warning: There’s an age gap between the love interests, but (thankfully) nothing statutory happens. The book stretches over a decade, and you watch both boys grow up before anything physical occurs.

3/5 spiciness and a lot of innuendo. (Would it be a TJ Klune book if it wasn’t?)
