This is not exactly a good book in my opinion. The characters are uninspired and Ethan Burke as the protagonist is as entitled as shit, just like a stereotypical white officer man could be. Reading this as some kind of a 'palate cleanser' after Joe Hill's awesome [b:Strange Weather: Four Short Stories|34066621|Strange Weather Four Short Stories|Joe Hill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1493845147l/34066621._SX50_.jpg|50720361] and this book rinses off all the remaining aftertaste so well with its blandness.
So it serves its purpose for me, I guess.
But I have no idea why this novel gets picked out for a series adaptation.
Maybe because of the entitlement and the weird obsession with being free and ungoverned appeal to the majority of Americans? Idk.
