As I began to read, I was occasionally annoyed by the writing (it seemed like the author was trying to be too clever with her words, and it was too obvious). I was also a bit disoriented...maybe just because "Three Pines" sounded like a name for a nursing home. It was a little while before I realized it was a town. On the positive side, I liked Chief Inspector Armand Ganache. The secret of Jane's house was delightful as well. I may try reading another mystery by this author some day, but I probably won't go out of my way to do it.
