Henry V by William Shakespeare

5.0

I love Shakespeares history plays and I love battle scenes in them.. I can’t believe I would ever write those words, but I do. I first realised this battle scene thingy in Les Misérables when I enjoyed the Waterloo chapters. Then in War and Peace.
Most certainly in Shakespeare. This play is, of course, not completely historically accurate. It is not politically correct or anything like acceptable today. But I absolutely loved it.
Not so much the comedy interludes, but more the overall rousing bravado and King Henry V doing a tour of the troops pre Battle of Agincourt in disguise and the chorus preceding each act with pure poetry. All this was truly fantastic! A top marks read for me.
