I did not enjoy the book and somewhat wished I had stopped reading it before I felt committed by halfway. The first half was mostly setting up the characters and the world. Faythe is impulsive and headstrong. The cliche love triangle was there but with a very clear outcome. What really angered me however

was that the entire plot and most of the second half of the book was entirely based off sexual assault and rape. The same plot could have been done with them kidnapping wives without the entire chapters of descriptive sexual assault. I do not appreciate rape being used a s throwaway plot device.
