Absolutely compelling in every sense of the word. This just might be one of the most well-written books I have ever read. Brit Bennett has so intimately created an entire cast of characters who have more nuance and depth than most any other author I've read. I honestly feel like I've grown up with them and can call them family. I initially thought this was just a very good book, but the final chapters moved me to tears so many times that I couldn't give this any less than 5 stars. Highly recommended.
