Woman of Blood & Bone by Annie Anderson
3.0
I like the idea of this book. The fmc was way over the top and super dramatic and it hindered me from really loving her. The plot was muddled and confusing, and there was a lot of history that was implied at, but that we were never really given. (ETA: apparently this is a spin off from another series that had all of that history I was looking for).
I was really intrigued by the whole - can’t die witch thing, and on that front, I wasn't really let down. I enjoyed the story of Max and her best friend trying to save a woman from a demon. I liked them coming into themselves but considering they have both lived for over 400 years, it really didn’t fit their whole coming of age/power storyline.
This really felt like two different stories mashed into one and it was a bit convoluted at times, but it was still a quick, easy and decent read.
