This is a first in a mystery series, with the second due to be released in 2025. Glory Broussard is a black woman of a certain age, recently divorced from her numbers running, cheating husband. She’s run him out of town and has taken over his book of business. Unfortunately, the husband thing has caused more grief than she is willing to admit and it’s causing her to become a hoarder. The city has alerted her that she needs to clean up her act and to that end, her high falutin daughter is staying with her to help her clean up. Well, at least that’s the reason she gave Glory. Word on the street says she’s got caught up in her own cheating scandal down to her job, and her law firm has suspended her, pending review. Chiillleee. 🫣🫨

During all this moving around, Glory learns that her bestie, an activist nun, has been found dead in her apartment. The sheriff is calling it suicide but Glory knows better. There is a drug dealing, dog-fighting, ex-boyfriend, a pastor caught up in some environmental beef with the local rich folk, which the nun may or may not have been having an affair with, and a strip club that complicates things. Glory and her daughter start chasing down clues, attempting to discover the truth.
