Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
4.0
Malibu Rising is the perfect beach read: a light but layered novel with interesting characters and dramatic plot points that you can read in a sitting or two. The story shifts between the 1980s, as Nina Riva and her siblings prepare for a big annual party, and the story of their parents' tumultuous relationship in the 1950s and 60s. The second half of the book is a series of scenes at the big party that makes you feel like you're watching a guilty pleasure reality TV show.
