I absolutely loved this book! Olivia’s character, chef’s kiss. Marcus’s character, chef’s kiss. Their romance, chef’s kiss! My goodness, I absolutely adored this. This is the type of plus size romance I want in my life and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint.
Olivia’s character really exemplifies the type of plus size representation I want in my stories. She is confident in herself and loves her body, rolls and all. But, she does have insecurities because she gets constant weight loss and healthy food comments from her mom, her exes and her so called friends. So that is completely understandable. I loved that she was very sure in what she wanted and she didn’t let anyone tell her different. I also loved that she owned up to her own mistakes and flaws!
Marcus’s character felt well rounded. He is a “pretty boy” who stars in the hit tv show but he is much more than that. He has layers to him and his own insecurities. He has depth to him and he’s a secret fanfic writer. He feels like he has to put a facade on because he doesn’t think people will like the real him. Which is super relatable because it’s scary to show people the real you.
The romance between the two was great. This was a friends to lovers/online friends type of deal. So if you’re into that, then this is great. I loved the banter between the two and how much they supported and really comforted each other.
The sex scenes between the two were chef’s kiss, I wish we could’ve gotten more though because it was super good.
Overall, if you love stories involving fandom culture, fanfiction, friends to lovers/online friends to lovers, steaminess, this is a great book to read!
