I love historical fiction. I was excited to read this book, but I didn't even get a decent length in before I had to give it up. The story is very flat - it had several opportunities to grow and build, but it didn't take them. Boring. Granted, it was more like a real life story in the fact that nothing truly exciting happens to most of us, but that's not the point in reading a book like this.
