Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
5.0
Where do I even start? I have been invested in this world of Cassandra Clare's from the beginning. Seeing it cross over three different stories has made the Shadowhunter world full of depth and lovable characters.
Lord of Shadows is the second installment of The Dark Artifices branch of these books. It is a very thick book that took me way too long to get through, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I have always been so invested in the characters since they first made their appearance in the last Mortal Instruments installment. Emma is a bad ass who is the next Jace Herondale, Julian, who would do anything for his family, Ty and Livvy, the detective twins, Dru, the lover of horror, Tavvy, the young boy who doesn't really understand everything that's going on, and Mark, who is half-faerie.
The story takes place very shortly after Lady Midnight ended, and intertwines itself with the story of Lady Midnight perfectly. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I will just say that the story kept me engaged throughout with a few slow parts, and the ending was not at all what I expected. If you love the Shadowhunter world like I do, you will definitely want to continue the ride with Lord of Shadows!
