This volume was fucking INCREDIBLE!!!!! It was SOOOO GOOOOD! I can’t believe how much I loved it. The improvement from volume one to volume two was astronomical.
One, I loved that in this volume we focused more on Ryo’s internal struggle trying to find a way to be out to his coworkers. He really struggled to find a job because he’s afraid to be rejected for being transgender and isn’t sure any employer will accept and validate his gender identity. So he agrees to a job where he is perceived as a girl but eventually finds the courage to talk to his coworkers about his gender identity. We love to see it.
Second, Mizuki is such a realistic example of an ally! I still actually think she’s queer, but it has yet to be confirmed. So, for the moment she’s just a great example of how allies can fuck up at times but can work to be better and more accepting.
Third, Tsubasa was such a great addition to the story! They’re definitely chaotic for outing Ryo, but I still really like that they were included. They pushed the boundaries of what Ryo thinks as feminine and masculine, and I’m all for it!
Finally, Chika simply must be the endgame girlfriend because I’ll have to fight the author otherwise.
