This book kept me on the edge of my seat with worry for the two sisters. Cassie lives with her parents and sister in a farmhouse in the outskirts of a rural town. Behind every closed door seems to be a heinous secret. The adults of the town seem to know but refuse to acknowledge. Meanwhile, it is the children who pay the price for the adult’s silence. When boys in the area begin to be attacked and disappear, the adults in Cassie’s life close ranks. Is it the police officer who is at Cassies’s house more than she wants? Is it the music teacher who people feel is too invested in his students? Is it the creepy neighbor? Or is it closer to home? Only Cassie is brave enough to find out. I was so heart broken for Cassie and her sister. The absolute hell they were being put through with no one willing to put a stop to the madness. This book kept me tense with worry and wondering how or if they would ever escape.
