Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
5.0
this was the most heartwarming read :,) truly a beautiful story & such a wonderful change of pace to have an octopus, Marcellus, as a key character, quite literally solving pieces of a puzzle & bringing people together. I believe anyone who enjoyed “The Island of Missing Trees” would enjoy this book & vice versa. I fell in love with all of the characters & appreciated how the ending didn’t finish with a perfectly tied up bow (the house was still sold, we still didn’t find Daphne, etc.) but we are given bits & pieces to come to our own conclusions. The setting being northern WA also made me smile as mentions of Seattle, Bellingham, & the descriptions of the Puget Sound touched me as I, like Cameron, traveled from CA to WA & now call it home. I feel emotional finishing this book. It was just so beautiful. I urge everyone to read it <3
