It’s a collection overbrimming with sorrow and sense of resignation. Glück has no answers for us here, she’s just as lost as we are, and this feeling continues throughout her poems. Her words are often like a reflection in the mirror and you come away known, recognised. Still, it is clear this sorrow is a solitary creature; for the author… and for us.
