Breakaway by Grace Reilly
5.0
Sometimes you read a romance and you’re reminded of why you fell in love with the genre in the first place
Breakaway was that experience for me
I loved Penny reclaiming her power over her own sexuality
I loved Cooper working through his insecurities
I loved the family dynamics and the friends with benefits to lovers
But mostly, I loved how this smutty romance novel reminded me that life is a series of inexplicably hard events intertwined with beautiful moments and beautiful relationships.
The way that authors are able to write about sex in one chapter and then the difficulties of being a human with all these complex feelings in the next, has always fascinated me.
This is my long way of saying that Grace Reilly officially has me in a chokehold with her romances and I need like 12 books in the beyond the play series, MINIMUM
Also, Cooper Callahan is the book boyfriend we all need and I’m going to leave it there
